Cinematic Precision with a Painterly Touch

Equip your full-frame ARRI PL-mount camera with the DZOFilm Arles 40mm T1.4 FF/VV Prime Cine Lens to achieve cinematic visuals with soft, natural rendering. Designed for filmmakers seeking character-rich imagery, this fast T1.4 lens offers excellent low-light performance and beautiful, shallow depth of field. A 16-blade iris and refined optical construction create smooth, organic bokeh, enhancing the emotional impact of every shot. The focus ring allows for a precise 270° rotation, while the iris ring rotates 77°, enabling smooth, accurate manual control.

Optimized for Large Format and Visual Consistency

With a 50mm image circle, the Arles 40mm is fully compatible with large-format sensors, ensuring edge-to-edge clarity without compromise. When used wide open, the lens produces a slightly soft, lower-contrast look with gentle swirling bokeh at the edges—ideal for artistic, narrative work. Floating elements reduce focus breathing, and precision-engineered optics include aspherical and low-dispersion glass to minimize chromatic aberration and deliver high image fidelity in any lighting condition.

Professional Build with System-Wide Consistency

The ARRI PL mount is interchangeable with a separately available Canon EF mount, giving you flexibility across camera platforms. A 95mm outer front diameter and M86 filter thread support a wide range of matte boxes and filters. With industry-standard 0.8 MOD gears on both focus and iris rings, the lens integrates effortlessly with follow focus systems. Consistent mechanics and external dimensions across the entire Arles series allow for fast lens swaps on set—making this lens as practical as it is visually expressive.
